PromoStars AI Policy

This policy explains how PromoStars uses generative AI for event-concept visualisation, how AI images differ from real portfolio photographs, and the controls available to models and users.

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Core principle: AI Event Concepts are hypothetical visualisations. They are not real event photographs, do not prove previous work, and do not imply endorsement, employment, representation, or association with any brand, venue, organisation, or campaign shown.

1. Why PromoStars Uses AI

PromoStars may offer AI visualisation tools to help clients, visitors, administrators, and models imagine how a model might look in a requested event, uniform, venue, brand-activation, or campaign setting before any real booking takes place.

AI visualisation is a planning and discovery aid only. It is not a substitute for a real fitting, briefing, casting, booking confirmation, wardrobe test, venue inspection, or campaign shoot.

2. Real Portfolio Photos vs AI Event Concepts

PromoStars keeps normal portfolio photography and AI-generated concepts separate. A model's normal portfolio images are real photographs supplied by the model, their representative, or another authorised source. PromoStars does not use generative AI to create or AI-alter the model's appearance in those normal portfolio photographs.

PromoStars may still perform ordinary technical processing on portfolio images, such as resizing, cropping, compression, format conversion, thumbnail creation, or other display-related processing.

AI Event Concepts are displayed in a separately labelled section and generated files are marked AI CONCEPT so they remain distinguishable when viewed outside the profile page.

3. Information Used to Generate an AI Concept

Depending on the feature being used, an AI generation request may use:

  • Selected or automatically selected model profile photographs as identity references.
  • Model profile information that helps maintain a realistic result, such as general appearance or location context.
  • The user's written event, venue, clothing, styling, or campaign description.
  • Optional venue, environment, clothing, or styling reference images uploaded for that request.
  • Technical metadata required to operate, secure, meter, troubleshoot, or audit the feature.

AI generation may be performed through a third-party AI service provider, including OpenAI where configured. Relevant inputs are sent to that provider for the purpose of generating the requested image. See our Privacy Policy for more information about processing and cross-border transfers.

4. Model Control and Approval

Models can disable new AI concept generation for their profile using their account controls. When AI generation is disabled, PromoStars should not allow new AI concepts to be created for that model through supported platform workflows.

New AI concepts are not automatically treated as real portfolio photographs. Concepts that enter the model's review workflow start private unless a specific platform workflow states otherwise. Where public use is permitted, the model chooses whether a concept is shown in the public AI Event Concepts section of their profile.

5. Public and Anonymous Generations

PromoStars may allow a public visitor to generate a limited AI concept directly from a public model profile. Where this is available, the visitor may see the generated result immediately, but that does not make the image a permanent public profile image.

The generated concept is also placed into the model's review workflow. If the requester allows public reuse, the model may later choose to publish it in the clearly labelled AI Event Concepts section. If the requester disables public reuse, the concept remains private even though the model may review it.

PromoStars may impose global, account-level, model-level, IP-level, device-level, or other reasonable usage limits and may change those limits as the feature evolves.

6. Model Self-Generation

Models may be given a limited monthly allowance to create their own AI concepts using their existing PromoStars images. Self-generated concepts are added to the same review area and remain separate from real portfolio photographs.

7. Accuracy and Limitations

Generative AI can produce inaccurate, idealised, distorted, incomplete, or unexpected results. An AI concept may not precisely represent the model's real appearance, clothing fit, body proportions, branding, product design, venue layout, lighting, availability, or final event conditions.

Text, logos, uniforms, products, signs, people, backgrounds, and other details may be generated imperfectly. Users should not rely on an AI concept as evidence of fact or as an exact specification for a real campaign.

8. Brand, Venue, and Client References

A prompt may describe a real brand, venue, product, or organisation to help visualise a hypothetical campaign. The resulting concept does not mean the model or PromoStars has worked for, is endorsed by, represents, or is affiliated with that entity unless separately confirmed through real-world information.

PromoStars may restrict, moderate, relabel, remove, or refuse generated content that could create a materially misleading impression of endorsement, affiliation, employment, prior work, or factual events.

9. User-Uploaded Reference Images

If you upload a venue, clothing, product, styling, or other reference image, you must have the right or permission to use it for the requested AI generation. Do not upload confidential, unlawfully obtained, infringing, intimate, exploitative, or otherwise prohibited material.

10. Prohibited AI Uses

You may not use PromoStars AI features to create or facilitate content that is unlawful, harmful, deceptive, exploitative, or abusive, including attempts to:

  • Create sexual, sexually exploitative, or inappropriately revealing content involving a model.
  • Create fake evidence of a real event, booking, endorsement, employment relationship, criminal conduct, or other factual occurrence.
  • Defame, harass, threaten, impersonate, exploit, or materially misrepresent another person.
  • Create misleading political, news-like, documentary, or evidentiary content.
  • Bypass safety controls, quotas, moderation, model opt-outs, or other platform restrictions.
  • Upload content for which you do not have the necessary rights, permissions, or lawful basis.

11. Moderation, Safety, and Removal

PromoStars and its AI service providers may apply automated or manual safety controls. A generation request may be rejected, restricted, removed, or withheld where it appears unsafe, prohibited, abusive, misleading, technically invalid, or inconsistent with platform rules.

Models may remove or make private AI concepts associated with their profile where the platform provides those controls. PromoStars may also remove or restrict AI content for moderation, safety, legal, privacy, security, or operational reasons.

12. Storage and Retention

PromoStars may store successful AI outputs, associated prompt text, generation metadata, review status, timestamps, cost/usage information, and related records for moderation, model review, service operation, abuse prevention, support, legal, and audit purposes.

Optional reference uploads may be processed for the generation request without being retained as separate permanent public files by PromoStars. Retention practices may differ where information is required for support, security, abuse investigation, legal compliance, or future platform functionality. See the Privacy Policy for further details.

13. Relationship to Other PromoStars Policies

This AI Policy forms part of the rules governing use of PromoStars and should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and POPIA & PAIA Manual. If you use an AI feature, those documents also apply.

14. Changes to AI Features

PromoStars may change AI providers, models, generation limits, moderation rules, output formats, retention practices, approval workflows, or feature availability as the service evolves. Material policy changes will be reflected on this page or in related platform notices.

15. Contact

Questions, complaints, removal requests, privacy concerns, or reports relating to PromoStars AI features can be sent to info@promostars.co.za or through the contact methods provided on the platform.
