How to improve your chances of getting featured
Featured profiles are selected by PromoStars to highlight strong, useful and professionally presented profiles. There is no payment, subscription or upgrade that buys featured placement. The best thing you can do is make your profile genuinely worth featuring.
These are guidelines, not a points system. Meeting every recommendation does not guarantee that a profile will be featured, and PromoStars may rotate featured profiles over time.
Build a profile that looks ready for real work
A featured profile should make a strong first impression on a client, agency or brand without requiring them to guess whether the information is current or whether the profile is being taken seriously.
Stay active
Keep using PromoStars and keep your profile current. An active profile gives us more confidence that the model is still available and that the information being shown is useful to visitors.
Upload several strong photos
One good photo is better than none, but a useful profile normally needs variety. Add several clear, current images that show you properly rather than relying on one angle, one outfit or repeated shots.
Prefer professional-quality images
Professional photography is a strong advantage. At minimum, use sharp, well-lit images where you are clearly visible. Avoid blurry, heavily filtered, badly cropped or confusing photos where possible.
Complete the profile properly
Fill in the useful fields accurately. A detailed profile gives clients more information to work with and looks more credible than a profile with large gaps or placeholder-style answers.
Check spelling and grammar
Read your bio and profile text before publishing it. Good spelling, punctuation and clear sentences make a surprisingly large difference to how professional the whole profile feels.
Add genuine experience
Relevant promotional, event, hostessing, brand ambassador or related experience strengthens a profile. Be accurate and specific. Real experience is useful; exaggerated or invented claims are not.
Aim for useful variety, not just quantity
Having more photos can strengthen a profile when the images add useful variety. Ten weak versions of the same selfie are not automatically better than four or five strong images that present you clearly.
- Use a clear main/profile image that identifies you immediately.
- Include a mix of closer portraits and fuller-length images where possible.
- Use current photos that still represent how you look now.
- Choose clean, sharp images with good lighting and sensible framing.
- Show useful range in styling, setting or previous promotional work.
- Keep the strongest images rather than uploading every photo you have.
Write like a client may read it
Your bio is part of your presentation. It does not need to sound corporate, but it should be readable, accurate and professional enough that a potential client can quickly understand who you are.
Common reasons a profile may be passed over
There is no single automatic disqualifier for featured consideration, but these issues generally make a profile less useful or less polished and can work against it.
Quick featured-profile checklist
- My profile is public, current and complete.
- I have uploaded several strong photos, not just one.
- My main photo is clear and presents me professionally.
- My photos still represent my current appearance.
- I have read my bio and corrected spelling and grammar.
- My relevant experience is listed accurately.
- I have removed weak, repetitive or misleading information.
- I intend to keep the profile active rather than create it and abandon it.
Featured is curated, not earned by a formula
PromoStars directly decides which profiles are featured. The guidance on this page describes the qualities that generally make a profile stronger and more useful, but it is not a scoring system and does not create an entitlement to featured placement.
Featured profiles may be added, rotated or removed at PromoStars' discretion. Selection is not a paid option, and paying PromoStars for any unrelated commercial service does not buy a model featured status.
Featured profile questions
Can I pay PromoStars to feature my profile?
No. Featured placement is not sold. There is no featured-profile fee, premium model tier or hidden upgrade that moves a profile into the featured section.
Will I definitely get featured if I follow this guide?
No. Following the guide should improve the overall quality of your profile, but featured selection remains a PromoStars curation decision and is never guaranteed.
Do I need professional photos?
Professional photography is preferred because it usually presents a model more strongly. It is not presented as an absolute rule, but clear, sharp and well-composed photos materially improve a profile.
Do I need experience?
Relevant experience is preferred and can strengthen a profile, but it is only one factor. A newer model can still build a strong profile by presenting themselves carefully, honestly and professionally.
How often should I update my profile?
Update it whenever important information changes, you gain new relevant experience, or you have stronger current photos to add. The goal is for the public profile to remain an accurate representation of you.
